The work

How a commission works

  1. We talk, and I measure

Tell me about the room and how you actually use it. I come out, measure the space myself, and note the things a tape doesn't catch — light, sightlines, where the plumbing really is.

  2. You approve drawings and a price

You get shop drawings with the species and finish spec, and a fixed price. Nothing gets cut until the drawings and the number both sit right with you.

  3. I build it and install it

The piece is made and finished in the shop, then installed. We walk through it together before I leave, and I stand behind the joinery.
